The majority of support emails we receive are in regards to something "not working" right.
Please read the following FAQs if you are having a problem because 99.9% of the time the
problem is not with AdMinder, but rather with the way you have set something up. We work very
hard to make AdMinder as reliable as possible, and it does what it's supposed to do.
1. I keep clicking on my test link and AdMinder only shows 1 click. Why?
AdMinder counts only unique clickthroughs in order to ensure that your stats are as
accurate as possible. Thus, if you are trying to test your links to make sure they are
working AdMinder will only register one click for each ... no matter how many times you
click on them. This is a good thing.
2. I have added the HTML code to my pages, why isn't AdMinder tracking Actions?
First of all, make sure you have instructed AdMinder to track Actions for the Ad Code
in question. Go to the Ad Code details screen in your Control Panel and make sure that the
"Purpose" you have selected for the Ad Code includes Actions. Two of the options do, but
two of them do not.
If you have instructed AdMinder to track Actions, and it still doesn't
seem to work, chances are you are not using the correct HTML code on your "confirmation"
pages. Please re-read the section on Tracking Actions
and make sure you are using the right HTML code as shown in the example.
Finally, make absolutely sure that you have actually clicked on your Ad Code "Gate URL"
prior to completing the Action in question and testing to see if it was registered. If you do
not first click on the Gate URL, AdMinder will not recognize your completed Action.
An easy way for you to see for yourself that AdMinder is working fine, and that it's a
problem on your end, is to type the following into your browser after clicking on an Ad Code link:
http://www.adminder.com/a.cgi?user=User
or ...
http://www.adminder.com/a.cgi?user=User&desc=test
AdMinder will record the Action and you can verify it via your Control Panel. Then
you know it's a problem with the HTML code that you are adding to your "confirmation" pages.
3. I have added the HTML code to my pages, why isn't AdMinder tracking Sales?
First of all, make sure you have instructed AdMinder to track Sales for the Ad Code
in question. Go to the Ad Code details screen in your Control Panel and make sure that the
"Purpose" you have selected for the Ad Code includes Sales. Two of the options do, but
two of them do not.
If you have instructed AdMinder to track Sales, and it still doesn't
seem to work, chances are you are not using the correct HTML code on your "confirmation"
pages. Please re-read the section on Tracking Sales
and make sure you are using the right HTML code as shown in the example.
Finally, make absolutely sure that you have actually clicked on your Ad Code "Gate URL"
prior to completing a test Sale to see if it was registered. If you do not first click
on the Gate URL for the Ad Code in question, AdMinder will not be able to credit that
Ad Code with a Sale.
An easy way for you to see for yourself that AdMinder is working fine, and that it's a
problem on your end, is to type the following into your browser after clicking on an Ad Code link:
http://www.adminder.com/s.cgi?user=User
or ...
http://www.adminder.com/s.cgi?user=User&amount=9.95
or ...
http://www.adminder.com/s.cgi?user=User&amount=9.95&id=123
AdMinder will record the Sale and you can verify it via your Control Panel. Then
you know it's a problem with the HTML code that you are adding to your "confirmation" pages.
4. Google (or another search engine) says I can't use an AdMinder tracking URL in my
listings because it involves a "redirect". How do I get around this?
Many AdMinder users have had no problems at all using the standard AdMinder tracking links in
their Overture or other search engine listings. It seems to depend on who is in charge of checking
your listings i.e. some of them enforce the "no redirect URLs" rule and some don't. Many people
have also reported that after having a URL declined, they just re-submitted the listing and it
was approved by someone else the next day. So you can always try that.
If you are still having trouble getting your listings approved because of a "redirect URL",
the real solution is to click here
and use the special script we provide. It takes just a minute to set-up, and ensures that after
clicking your link at the search engine a user can hit their back button to return to
the search engine. This is all the search engines care about, and your listings will be approved.
5. I'm using the Universal Tracking feature to track actions and/or sales at a vendor's site. Why does my AdMinder account show more/less sales than my affiliate statistics show that are provided by the vendor?
AdMinder is a tracking system which allows you to track the effectiveness of your ads by tracking how many sales a particular ad generates. Your affiliate tracking system is designed to record how many total sales you have generated, regardless of whether any ads were tracked or not. They are two completely different and independent systems. AdMinder is not a replacement for your affiliate tracking system to track commissions. The commissions and sales shown through your affiliate tracking system is what should be used for affiliate commissions.
Because these are two completely different tracking systems (one for affiliate sales and one for ads), AdMinder may show higher or lower sales than what your affiliate tracking system may report since each is managed by two different sets of cookies. Our current data for the Universal Tracking feature shows this difference to be less than 1% so this is a very small issue (if not non-existent). Such small discrepancies rarely affect the outcome of whether an ad is effective or not. And that's what AdMinder is designed to show -- how effective an ad really is.
6. How do I cancel my account?
Simply log into your account, click the Profile link at the bottom of the page. In the Subscription Information section, look for the Renewal Term drop down list. From the drop down list, simply choose Cancel my account when it expires then click the Update My Account button. That's all there is to it.
