Dear Photograph, My father passed away in 2010 just shy of his 50th birthday. My mom and him divorced when I was only 1 year-old and we lived 2 hours away from each other. He would always make the trip to pick me up and spend time with me. I feel I was never separated from him, he was 100% committed to being the best father I could have ever asked for. I miss you everyday and love you forever! - Renee

Dear Photograph,

On Top of the World. My son Lane, you were on top of the world. Completing adventures you never thought you could. You hiked, you camped, you portaged a canoe, swam in a river, you were on top of the world. And then, in a split second, in a heap of twisted metal, all was gone. I want to see what you saw, walk where you walked, achieve what you achieved, I want to be on top to the world with you.

Love Mom ❤️

Dear Photograph,

One last photo on ‘the Swinging Bridge’ before you headed off to war, never to return. I wonder what was going through your 19-year-old mind? Thank you, my uncle, for your sacrifice.

Dear Photograph,

Swimming in the same pool for 19 years, only thing that’s changed is the floaties.

Dear Photograph, this house holds onto a lot of my firsts. My first words. My first steps. My first nights alone. My first giggles. I’ll never remember these things but I’ll never forget that they happened here, with my family. My incredible family....

Dear Photograph,
It was fun being a little kid, running around always having fun and not worrying about anything. It’s really amazing how fast time can go by. This is a photo of me when I was younger, and it’s hard to look at that photo and remember how small I used to be. I’m starting my sophomore year of college soon. It would be great just living one more day at that age loving life before I have to face the real world. -Andrew

Dear Photograph, the chairs are different and you are now gone, but I will remember you this way forever. Happy Mother’s Day, Mom.

Dear Photograph,

You were young and enjoying an afternoon off in Goldsboro, NC with your buddies away from the air base for a short time. A chance to remind yourself why you were in the Air Corps, what you and everyone of your generation was fighting for, every day Americans living free. You wanted to remember everything then. Now 75 years later, 1 year after your death, I came back for you to see how it changed…and how it has stayed the same. It’s still worth fighting for, thank you for teaching me that.

Love, Your Wandering Daughter

Dear Photograph, this was taken 12 years ago when I was 6. I still remember going up the hills with my grandma and coming down to sit down at the cabin. She always gave me candies, played with me, and treated me dearly. My grandma was my best friend....
Dear Photograph, this was taken 12 years ago when I was 6. I still remember going up the hills with my grandma and coming down to sit down at the cabin. She always gave me candies, played with me, and treated me dearly. My grandma was my best friend. Our conversations consisted of gossips of relatives, life stories, advices full of wisdom, and eyesight problems. I mostly listened to her talk, and it never bore me. Last year, she passed away. It was hard to believe that she was gone. It still is.. But she will always be in my heart and memories. Love you Grandma -Ochko

Dear Photograph,
We were supposed to get married at that lighthouse in the fall and spend our summers exploring the coast. I returned a year later, remembering how salt water heals wounds. I had hoped it could heal my heart, too…

Dear Photograph, until you were gifted to me on Christmas, I had no idea you existed. But since Dad left this world, you’ve become his lasting memory. As each of us look in opposite directions, this photograph is my constant reminder that we’re...

Dear Photograph, My sister is home for the summer from Med School, so we’ve been able to hang out during the afternoon thunderstorms again! It’s still this fun! -Austin
