Mat så in i Norden

Programmet kan du sjå her.

  1. We are too far removed from the food we eat, we need to reconnect our minds and hearts to the food before it passes into our mouths. Here in the USA we have Andreas Viestad and Tina Nordström (and others) talking about Scandinavian cooking. For me, some of the best episodes on the TV shows are the ones that the chef goes to the sea, river or farm, catches a fish or picks food, tells a story about their childhood memories of the dish they are making and then they make the meal for us. This all happens not in the kitchen but right near the place the food came from. One episode Viestad talked about potatoes and went out to dig up many types at a farm that produced them, then made a meal. I found this interesting, it told me about how my food was grown, talked about the care/love the farmer took to produce it, then from a simple start made something very nice to eat. All in about 15 minutes of TV. An even simpler idea was catching a trout and smoking it at the river edge in a small smoker.
